igital Equipment Corporation PDP-8, 1965

First introduced in 1965, the PDP-8 signalled the start of the "minicomputer" era, which saw fridge-sized machines that were cheap and compact for the time extend computing to new places, such as schools.

This PDP-8 is on display at the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumForum in Paderborn, Germany.
